Wow, long time no activity. Alright, quick rundown: - Grandfather died
- Still at University
- Had an Internship at the Crow Collection of Asian Art. It was lots of fun and I got along well with my co-interns.
- Hoping to study abroad in Japan *crosses fingers*
- Still active in Cancer causes
- Participating in the Anthropology Students Association and is attempting to bring together an Alumni group of my honor society here.
I just got back from the BCRC Brunch and was very happy to see some of my honor society friends, I'll see more of them when I go back for the Race for the Cure. mood: cheerful music: Breaking Benjamin - I Will Not Bow |

I have a mixed bag of teacher this semester, but my history prof. is really enthusiastic. It's so refreshing. I missed Ikkicon but mom liked her gift, I should hope so, she's spending the entire day at the spa. I finally got my car back after more than a month and 4 different engines. mood: cheerful music: The Killers - Somebody Told Me |

- I am still waiting for my final grade in my world civilizations class. The man's had 2 weeks to grade the final, this is getting ridiculous, especially since grades were due a week ago.
- 2 Christmases down and one to go.
- I've been trying out my new and blue spiffy camera, and I love it!
- I still have to pack for my trip tomorrow to visit my dad's side of the family, I have to prepare myself for loudness, complaining, and shouting matches. Don't worry it's all in good fun... most of the time.
I would also like to wish everyone happy holiday's! mood: amused music: Barlow Girl - O come Emmanuel |

I was looking at the percentages for Texas and I was so surprised and awed at close we were. It's a pity we didn't go blue, it would have been so cool if we did. I could hear the cheering in my dorm all the way from the lobby. This event is so exciting, especially since it was my first time to vote for a president. mood: accomplished |

Once again I've been busy, school hasn't been going very well. Even amongst school, work, and home issues I managed to go vote. PLEASE go vote my fellow youth, don't be fools, this election effects you to, don't screw this up for us. GO VOTE!!! Good grief, I'm so nervous about this election. I'll only be happy and appeased after all the votes are tallied, not when whatever political analyst says that Obama will win. mood: anxious |

I'm not going to say much but.... I just came back from a midnight showing of The Dark Knight and my heart hasn't stopped pounding. It really surprised me. Happy Independence Day for you fellow Americans. I just spent the better part of my evening partying and lighting off fireworks = fun!!! It's been quite a while. I really have no excuse. So here's a very abbreviated version of what's been going on: 1. Went to China = totally awesome, we visited Beijing, Xi'an, and Shanghai. We saw just about every major site including the preparations for the Olympics. I still really worry about the athletes coming in August. 2. Went to Philadelphia = this was for convention with PTK at my college. We totally rocked, we were listed as one of the top 25 chapters in the Honor Society out of thousands internationally. We also got to hear speeches and discussions with Christian Arampour, Amy Tam and more. This was a really big deal for me because these guys are like my family, and I have rarely won a group award where I feel completely accepted into the group. I will miss them severely when I move. This brings me to #3. 3. I am transferring to UNT in Denton. I got accepted there and at UT Austin - please, no one ask why I chose UNT over UT, you will incite a very wordy rant that I really don't want to start right now. I am transferring under a Anthropology major.

I will be leaving for China for 12 days in less than 9 hours. I really need to get to sleep. The only thing I'll have to worry about when I get back is finishing up my science class work. It's been a long time since I've been on a plane, let alone one for 13 hours. I will have no access to computers at any time, which I don't mind. Just me, books, monuments, and museums. Oh, and I can't forget the food. XD mood: thoughtful music: Sinbad - Comedy Jam |

I always thought I was pretty mellow compared to many con goers. However, I could barely restrain myself when I saw a Subaru at Ikkicon, I even had my picture taken with him. And no, I'm not ashamed of my fangirlishness. I was beginning to believe that I was never going to see an X/1999 cosplayer in Texas. I even awwwwed when he said he was Seishirouless, getting a call 2 weeks before the con saying he couldn't come. The cosplay contest was cool. There was an awesome Cid Highwind and Reno. One of the best skits consisted of Spike and Fahye fighting over the last cigarette doing the tango. mood: calm music: Hellsing OST |

Very busy this weekend. But at least it's fun busy. I'm finishing up Ikkicon and I'm getting ready to go to the AMV contest. Before that I have to go feed my friends dogs. I've been doing a lot of driving around today. I don't want to imagine the amount of gas I'm using up. Then tomorrow I have to get up at 4 am to drive the thirty minutes to get to my job. I guess it's not so much that I'm busy as that I'm in the car a lot this weekend. At least I can relax on Monday. mood: lethargic music: Hellsing OST |

Wow... long time huh?
Started my last semester in my 2-year college. The classes are pretty cool. I'm taking World Literature II, Unity of Life, Texas Government, and Martial Arts Weaponry. The looks I get from people when I tell them I'm taking that class is always interesting. *grins*
Here's the good news, I'm going to China in March for 12 days. I'd love to stay longer but I think this beginning expedition is a good start. We're also going to take lectures while we're there. Some on history, economy, culture, and language.
The greater news is that I've finally heard back from UNT, I'm happy to say that I've gotten accepted into the University. Yes, I know some people think it's an easy in but just knowing that I have a place waiting for me at the end of this semester is wonderful. Besides, I plan on going for my PH. D. that's a lot of time for me to move around. I still have some other schools to hear back from.
I'm going to be very busy come April so I'm going to savor my mood: ecstatic music: Mondo Boongo |

I'm currently preparing for my finals that are next week. Luckily none of them are accumulative. My job is still going well. It's actually fun and my manager is really nice along with everyone else. Surprisingly, I have it easy next week during exams. In a way I kinda want more hours but am glad I don't have to worry about work biting into my study schedule. I'm going to a Christmas party tomorrow. I'm going to bring an elephant gift of 1 pound of coffee. Yes, I know it's an easy out. mood: busy music: Aly and AJ - We Three Kings |

I've just had one of those conversations with my dad that I know I'm going to remember for a long time. We talked about some long overdue and underlying issues concerning all three of us. To think all this spawned from a speeding ticket. *sigh* Dad now knows that I plan on going to China over spring break next year. I wish I had a recording of his reaction. Me: I'm going to China. Dad: CHINA!! China, China? Me: Yes, Beijing, China Dad: CHINA!!! Me: *isn't sure if this is a good or bad reaction* One minute later involving many exclamations of CHINA...*literally* Dad: This is so, so,... Me: *braces self* Dad: COOL!!! Me: *blinks* Two minutes later...Dad: Don't eat the food. Me: Dad, the chaperon has never had a problem with food poisoning. Dad: I don't care, you're not his daughter. I was laughing the whole time. I wasn't sure what his reaction was going to be but it certainly wasn't that. About every two normal sentences he's suddenly say: "China, my daughter's going to China...." or "CHINA!!!" all over again. I'm going to our interfaith meeting tonight. I think it will be interesting. We're going to have panelists of the three monotheistic faiths and we get to ask them questions.

My race for the cure went really well. One of my teammates said there was a much better turn out than last year. Of course, it was only 17 team members compared to the total of 25,000 participants. Call it petty but I really like knowing that I can walk three miles and not have to stop to rest. Three miles is nothing compared to one lady that I talked to. She did 60 in 3 days. It makes me wince just thinking about it. I also know that there's another race that spans a week and you do nothing but walk except for food times. mood: sore music: Bang Bang - Remix |

Getting ready to do Race for the Cure in Austin. I'm hoping all of my team members show up at the meeting tomorrow night. I'm really liking work. My learning coach has if really fun to work with, along with everyone else. I really like my manager too, which is always a good thing. I thought I'd be happy to work just for a higher salary but here I wouldn't mind working on a last minute basis if they really needed me. Of course, it could be because there's not a stockpile of clothes waiting for me if I get called in last minute. I'm going to turn in my college application tonight. Next I'll really start working on my China study abroad scholarship and the other colleges I'm not so interested in. mood: amused music: Regina Spektor - Samson |

My internet connection is very limited at the moment. I have to go my leadership conference in Waco this weekend. I'm not to thrilled because I have all my tests in the next week. In lighter news: I HAVE A JOB!!!! I start Wed. Yes, the same week that everything else is going on. But it doesn't matter since I finally have a job!! Even better, it pays more than I was expecting, not including tips. And we get a lot of tips. mood: ecstatic music: Linkin Park - Shadow of the Day |

I've had a good couple of weeks. I've gotten two A's on Unit Tests and another A for my U.S. Government Essay. So far this semester is looking good. The only thing I'm worrying about is Philosophy. I have no idea what to expect for his exams. He only has two exams and one ten page book report for major grades. My volunteering for this past weekend went really well. My group got lots of compliments. The volunteer coordinator hasn't gotten back to me about how much was raised for the local Breast Cancer Resource Center. I wanted to announce it tomorrow night at the meeting. I'm also currently house sitting at the moment. They should be getting back late Saturday night from St. Martin's. Some more good news is that after a job interview on Saturday I might finally have a job. I know I've certainly gotten my hopes up before and was disappointed but this is the second interview for the store I'll be working at. *crosses fingers* Here's some easy art that I took from quoth_the_ravynhttp://www.createpaintings.com/result.php?id=11915585098386mood: sleepy music: Regina Spektor - Samson |
